Families are usually recommended to The Salvation Army by Work & Income NZ. During the programme, a Work & Income Case Manager will work closely along side the Family Assistance Field Worker.
Our Service Aim is to help increase the participation of family members in their cultural, social, educational, spiritual and community life.
The resources offered to Family Assistance clients by The Salvation Army include a wide range of established programmes (including youth activities) to address clients perceived needs.
Through our own Counselling Service, we also offer the Positive Lifestyle Programme for adults and the X-PLOR programme to young people aged 10 – 18 years.
Comprehensive support is also provided to our Family Assistance clients by our depth of networking with other community and government agencies.
Our Family Assistance Field Workers support families on the programme to set goals and give guidance on ways to achieve these goals.
To be eligible to receive support from the Family Assistance Programme the client needs to be on a Work and Income benefit.
